Why this intensive exists

Buenos Aires can feel like a dream and a stress test at the same time - especially as a woman leader.

This intensive is a container inside the chaos: daily structure, high-quality practice, and a group of women doing the same work alongside you. The goal isn’t to “collect” more tango. The goal is to build trust in your leading: musical choices, clear navigation, and a reliable foundation you can bring home.

A quiet outcome we care about just as much as technique: you leave with relationships - people you can practice with, keep in touch with, and grow alongside after you return to your community.

Who it’s for

This program is for women who:

  • already lead socially (even if you’re still building confidence)

  • have a working understanding of basic leading vocabulary

  • want more musicality, clarity, and ease at real milongas

  • are ready for guided practice (not just information)

Not for: absolute beginners who have never led socially yet, or dancers looking for choreography/performance coaching.

The daily rhythm

12:00–5:00pm (5 days)
A structure designed to create results quickly - with time to integrate and apply.

12:00–1:30 Solo technique + bodywork (build the base for the day)
1:30–2:00 Break
2:00–3:30 Main topic class (with Yelizaveta + Mariana + guest teachers)
3:45–5:00 Guided práctica with feedback + 5 taxi dancers + teachers

Práctica format (what this means in real life)

You’ll rotate so that roughly every other tanda you’re dancing with a high-level dancer, and the other tandas you’re integrating with the group and receiving feedback. This is the “hidden engine” of the intensive: repetition with guidance, not just inspiration.

What we’ll focus on

The guest teacher topics will be chosen for one purpose: making you a stronger social dancer - more confident, more creative, more musical, and more effective in real milonga conditions.

Expect themes like:

  • musicality that translates into movement (not theory)

  • navigation + floorcraft for busy rooms

  • clarity of intention and timing

  • turning and pivot fundamentals that hold up under pressure

  • building fluency: simple vocabulary that becomes expressive

(Guest teachers will be announced as they’re confirmed.)

Your facilitators

Yelizaveta Nersesova and Mariana Dragone are the main teachers and facilitators for the intensive, guiding the week and supporting the learning arc day to day.

We’ll host three guest teachers (TBA) selected for teaching that is practical, musical, and socially applicable.

Venue: La Maleva

The intensive is held at La Maleva, one of the most iconic tango spaces in Buenos Aires. We love it because it’s grounded, supportive, and built for serious training - without the weird vibe.

Lodging + meals

Flights, lodging, meals, and local transportation are not included.

La Maleva has a limited number of rooms available for rent (shared or private). These will go quickly. Many participants also choose nearby Airbnbs/hotels.
