FAQ

Where are the workshops being held?

All workshops will be held at Tango Berretin except for two evenings at Shabu Studio on Friday Apr 29 and Friday, Sept 2.

  • Tango Berretin: 6305 SE Foster Rd

  • Shabu Studio: 6055 NE Glisan St

Do I need a partner?

No partner needed, we will encourage everyone to rotate partners in addition to swapping lead/follow roles. If you have a partner and prefer to only dance with your partner, you are welcome to do so.

Can I register as a follower?

No, all participants will be trading lead/follow roles.

I don't know how to lead, can I still attend?

Absolutely! The curriculum is designed for folks with some dance experience (in any style, and any role), but you do not need to have experience leading Argentine Tango to participate. The one exception is the final immersion weekend in September: this workshop will cover intermediate material, and you should feel comfortable leading the basics. Attend the monthly Sunday workshops in June, July and August to prepare for the September immersion weekend, and feel free to contact us if you have any questions about whether these events are a good fit for your skill level.

Can non-women attend this event?

This event is for people that identify as or relate to being a woman, in a broad and welcoming sense. If you identify exclusively as a man, this event isn't for you.

Do I have to register for the full series?

No, you can register for individual workshops. That being said, the entire series is designed to provide progressive curriculum and a fast-track to confident social leading, so consider saving and signing up for the bundle! Please note that the immersion weekends will consist of progressive content, so you can only sign up for the whole weekend (i.e., you cannot only take the Sunday workshops of either of the immersion weekends).

Can I just come to the práctica?

Yes, all of the practicas are open to womxn who aren't taking workshops.
