What Are the Sessions Like?

Every session in the Dance the Music series is built around one of tango’s Big Four orchestras. We focus on not just learning the music, but learning how to dance it—through your own body, movement, and expression.

In-Person Sessions:

If you're joining me in person (at my studio in West LA), here's what to expect:

  • We’ll start by dancing two full songs from that day’s featured orchestra - recorded on video.

  • Then we’ll sit down and review the footage together.

  • I’ll walk you through what I’m seeing - timing, phrasing, stylistic details - and what can be refined or expanded to suit that orchestra’s unique sound.

  • You’ll see visual examples, learn technique options and embellishment ideas, and we’ll spend the rest of the session working through those elements together.

Virtual Sessions:

If you’re joining virtually, the process is just as deep - just structured differently:

  • Before our session, you’ll send me a short video of you dancing to two songs from the featured orchestra.

  • During our session, we’ll review your video together and I’ll guide you through the same analysis and adjustments we’d cover in person.

  • I’ll show you visual examples, demo techniques live on camera, and suggest specific exercises to try based on your unique style and goals.

After Each Session:

You’ll get curated listening and viewing assignments to deepen your musical understanding:

  • Orchestra-specific playlists

  • Performance clips that demonstrate key stylistic elements

  • Solo drills or movement prompts to help internalize what we covered

Whether you're training in person or online, these sessions are meant to transform how you hear the music - and how you move with it.

Is this for you?

This is for dancers who:

  • Feel ready to move beyond “just following” or “just leading”

  • Want to unlock more creativity and connection on the social floor

  • Love tango music but aren’t sure how to express what they hear

This isn’t for:

  • Dancers who want choreography or competition training

  • Total beginners who need to learn the basics

  • Dancers who don’t like tango music

Why This Works

This isn’t random tips or figures. It’s not about performing.

It’s about building your inner musical compass - and learning to speak the language of tango’s greatest orchestras with your body.

Because Di Sarli is not D’Arienzo. Troilo is not Pugliese.

Each one moves differently - and so should you.

If you’re ready to train your musical ear and body - not just your steps - this might be for you.

The full program is $880 for 8 sessions (includes replays, playlists, and custom tools).

We meet in West LA or virtually - at your pace.

*There are only 10 spots, and this launch offer closes July 31st. If this feels right for you, now’s the time to sign up.

Hi, I’m Yelizaveta

I don’t teach tango the traditional way - because I don’t believe in dancing on autopilot.

For me, musicality isn’t the final polish - it’s the starting point. It’s how we communicate. It’s what makes tango feel like tango.

That’s why I created this training series - because too many beautiful dancers are getting stuck at the surface… memorizing figures, hoping it clicks someday.

But it doesn’t just click.
It takes guidance. Curiosity. A way to hear the music that actually lives in your body.

Over the last 10+ years, I’ve taught dancers around the world, DJed internationally, and built an online tango school that helps people connect the dots between movement and music.

But more than anything - I’m invested in your growth.

Because when you dance better, the whole floor changes. The community gets stronger. The tandas get deeper. And the reason we all came here - connection - becomes possible.

If you’ve ever wished you could feel the music more when you dance - or just want someone to walk you through what you’re hearing and how to move with it - you’re in the right place.

I want you on that floor. Confident. Clear. Dancing the music - not just the steps.

 FAQs

  • Sessions are held in my home studio in West Los Angeles or online via Zoom - whichever suits you best.

  • Yes! Virtual sessions are fully supported and priced the same as in-person lessons. You’ll receive the same personalized guidance and session recordings.

  • The full 8-session package is $880 (that’s $110 per session). You can’t book individual sessions for this training—it’s a full journey through tango’s Big Four orchestras.

  • Not at all. You should have a working knowledge of tango vocabulary and be comfortable dancing socially. If you’re brand new to tango, this series may not be the best starting point.

  • You can schedule them flexibly at your own pace. Most dancers complete the series within 2–3 months.

  • No partner required. These sessions are designed to build your solo musicality, whether you lead, follow, or both.
